Who to vote for?
Yet again, it seems to be the lesser of two (or three, if you count the Republicans, which I don’t…because I’d just feel dirty voting Republican right now.)
Thought I must say that if we have to have another Republican president, I’m glad it’s not going to be Romney (and barring some sort of evil miracle, Huckabee.) We definitely do not need someone in the white house making decisions that affect all of us based on their own religious beliefs.)
I used to be a big McCain supporter back in 2000… because the alternatives actually seemed worse. George Bush, Al Gore…. ugh. It’s amazing the parties can’t come up with better candidates. (And no, I don’t think Bradley ever had any chance of winning a Democratic nomination. He leaned WAY too far left anyway.)
So anyway…right now I’d *almost* rather see Clinton in office than another Republican.
In the Primaries I voted for Obama… (ok, I voted against Clinton…) In the general, my vote won’t matter one bit, because I live in Utah, and the sheeple in Utah would vote 80% for a housecat if there was a “(R)” next to it’s name on a ballot.
Somebody convince me otherwise…
Or convince me that I should root for the guy I voted for to win it, and not just want to throw my hands up in disgust, like I do pretty much every presidential election.
Right now I’m thinking I should hope for an Obama presidency, and hope he can (1) actually do something with it and prove my pessimistic attitude wrong, and (2) not destroy any of our 2nd amendment rights. If it ends up being Clinton vs. McCain, I’m really not sure what to think, besides just shaking my head and waiting 4 (or more likely 8) years for another choice to come along.
